Publisher: Onibatan Music
This work was commissioned by Chinese flute virtuoso Zhang Weiliang (张维良) as part of a series of compositions based on 五行 (wǔxíng), the set of five basic elements (fire, wood water, metal, earth) in Chinese traditional culture.  As the title suggests, this is the piece that revolves around the element wood. It is scored for a large ensemble consisting of Chinese traditional wind, plucked string and percussion instruments, plus clarinet, viola and cello.
