Publisher: Onibatan Music. This is a work for percussion trio which includes the percussionists in the composing process: the musicians choose the instruments they play. The title refers to my son Benjamin who, as a young child, had an imaginary friend called “Metasmo”. Sometimes Benjamin and I would sit on the floor together playing pots and pans and anything else we could find that made good sounds. In this piece, I am imagining that Metasmo is the composer of our ecstatic percussion jams.
